Railroad Tie and Stone Outdoor Steps

The previous set of railroad ties were spaced too far apart and too high because they were 8x8 ties. Once they were all ripped out we started over with 6x8 ties to allow the height of the step to be smaller and we decreased the depth. We set each step on a solid bed of crushed red screenings and pinned the step in place by driving rebar through the step and deep into the ground. After the steps were set we laid the stone along the wall and capped with blue stone.
